Still Here

Just a quick post this morning to state that I'm more or less staying on track, it's making the time to report on everything that is my limiting factor for right now. This was however the first morning in a while that I listened to scripture while unloading the dishwasher as my mornings have been squeezed and our kitchen hasn't been set right yet after our plumbing adventure. I've often been up late into the night finishing some mudding, sanding or painting sections and needing to clean things up again enough that my family can use the space enough to function the following day. These late nights have left me with later mornings and less time, so I've been doing grease the groove style workouts throughout the day and still reading my scriptures at night and saying my prayers.

Much love to those joining me in this journey.

Be strong!

Remind me, How do you grease the groove? Sounds like you have a lot of time demands. I have had a lot of hospital visits with my wife lately and need to get back on track with at least minimal temple maintenance.

Grease the groove is the term made popular by Pavel Tsatsouline for high frequency practice, while staying fresh. Essentially for me what that looks like is to never exceed half my maximum reps with puch-ups and pull-ups sprinkled throughout the day. Ie, I know I can do 40 push-ups so I do batches of twenty throughout the day and spaced out enough that I never reach fatigue by the time I get to 20. So it wouldn't work the same if doing several rounds of 20 with short rest periods in on e go and ending up running into momentary muscular failure. The point is to keep reinforcing within the nervous system that the movement is not fatiguing while having repeated exposure creating neuromuscular efficiency leading to increased strength and endurance.
