This morning I did 15 pull-ups over my two-minute span, by doing one, resting and repeating. I noticed the pull-ups seemed harder with the rest between than if I'd done them in a straight set to the first ten anyway. I decided this could actually make sense because when they are being done consecutively there is an elastic property to the muscle to help carry the next rep, but by stopping and starting cold each repetition this prestretch elastic potential is removed between repetitions.
While listening to Alma 30 while unloading the dishwasher, I heard Korihor contending with the people saying,
"Behold, ye cannot know of things which ye do not see"
This got me thinking about things we experience all the time without seeing. When I go outside and it's cold, I can't see the temperature, but I can feel it and see signs of it such as frost or a certain color of sky, but I can't actually see the cold, or hot. Same with wind - I can't see it, but I know it by the feel of it and the signs of it such as trees moving around and leaves blowing and so on. Then I also got thinking about what it must be like to be blind - surely a blind person is still capable of knowledge. It had me feeling that even though I haven't personally seen Jesus Christ or can see that the teachings of the church are visible in some way, I can still absolutely sense that the Lord hears my prayers and His truths can be known. I've been blessed with senses beyond mere physical vision to help me discern such things.
