Overcoming Obstacles

My whole family has been sick for the last two weeks with a nasty cough, except for me. I've been trying hard to make sure my hands are always washed before eating and limiting touching my face. I've also taken to gargling morning and evening as it's supposed to be very helpful. I have other things such as trying to rest, getting more vitamin C, oil of oregano and so on that have often seemed to help me avoid illness in the past or shorten the duration - of course it's hard to know for sure. Anyway this week I've been waking up with a sore throat, but between the gargling and such I get the sore throat under control and by bedtime I feel like I'm doing well, but then wake up in the morning a little more sore.

The reason I share this is that one of my usual routines would be to rest from strenuous exercise when I'm concerned that I may be getting sick to allow my body to use that energy for fighting an immune battle. Lighter exercise still seems beneficial for keeping things moving and can boost immunity. With the two-minute bouts I haven't felt a need to change anything, so instead of changing from a more ongoing workout to simply going for a walk or light rebounding, I just do what I do - this is nice because it standardizes the process for me and I don't have to feel like I'm missing out.

This morning I did two minutes of push-ups and even felt like throwing in mountain climbers at the top after every five. I didn't keep a good count this way, but I carried on.

How are you doing making efforts to incorporate even little bursts of strength throughout your day, whether it be building faith through scripture study and prayer or building your body with exercise?
