More powerful than the sword

Fitness accountability update: Two-minutes of squats this morning - I decided to just go all in with no breaks and completed fifty body-weight squats in the two minutes.

While unloading the dishwasher this morning listening to scripture I ended up hearing about the demise of Korihor and how following that Alma was organizing a mission to the Zoramites. In the 5th verse of Alma 31 we read about how Alma acknowledges that preaching the word tends to have a more powerful effect leading the people to do good than even the sword. I find this supports my musings about identity and lasting behavior change. People being forced to do things or act a certain way, may do so because they are compelled to (at sword point, even), but only when seen. Those whose hearts and identities are changed will choose to be better because it's who they are - starts to sound like what the war in Heaven was fought over.

Word stronger, I did five hundred push-ups in eleven sets yesterday. I listened to Eric Metaxas talking about his book about zeros Bonhoeffer. There was a man of courage. Angel Studios has receiteleased a movie about Bonhoeffer. He was a pastor in Germany during the nineteen thirties and fourties’. He tried to get Christmas to wake up to the crimes against decency and Christianity. He was hanged by the Nazis about two weeks before the war ended. The world was created by the word. Jesus is the word and the word can also be in us since we are in his image. The centurion with the sick family member said that Jesus didn’t come to his house he could just say the word. Good points to ponder. Thanks very much. Emerson

Let's just make a few adjustments to correct the autocorrect/typo garbling. -Eric Bonhoefer, tried to get Christians to wake up.
